Emergency lighting for orientation during a power failure
Emergency lighting helps people find their way when general lighting fails. We design and install luminaires and exit signs based on building use, escape routes and the agreed safety concept.
Applications
- Escape and rescue routes in commercial buildings
- Publicly accessible areas and administrative buildings
- Conversions with changed room layouts and evacuation routes
Our services
- Agree design criteria and luminaire positions
- Consider the power supply concept and cable routes
- Install luminaires and signage
- Test functions and compile inspection records
- Agree ongoing support and periodic inspections
Keep up with changes to the building
New partitions, changed exits or a different use may require adjustments. Up-to-date plans and clear luminaire labels make inspection and subsequent operation easier. Power supply and monitoring are selected to suit the project.

Technical framework
DIN EN 1838 covers lighting requirements for emergency lighting. DIN EN 50172 addresses emergency escape lighting systems. The requirements for a particular building follow from the applicable rules and the project concept.
Project coordination
Plan revisions, responsibilities and handover documents are defined at the outset. This enables electrical contractors, designers and operators to coordinate the next steps.
Collaboration for project partnersEmergency lighting: frequently asked questions
When should an existing system be reviewed?
The design and existing system should be compared especially after structural alterations, changes to evacuation routes or a change of use. Periodic inspections are organised during operation.
Are self-contained or central battery systems more suitable?
This depends on factors including building size, cable routes and the monitoring required. The decision is made as part of the power supply concept.
